Software roundup 9/16

* On the writely beta — love it…wish that office was delivered and worked this way…i don’t want to deal with installs and with docs being stuck on a particular machine.
* Wish I could get an invite to Flock
* Need to try Atlas
* Also Mint
* Trying to decide if I like memeorandom or not
* Need to try last.fm

    “wish that office was delivered and worked this way…”

    Oh…you know…maybe…

    Seriously, we’re looking hard at this question. We’re not trying to copy anything for the sake of copying it, word or office. We’re trying to re-invent these applications in a way that makes sense for the web, something that’s actually useful. So, we’ll probably implement some parts of the Office functionality, but not just to copy it for the sake of copying it.

    So..what would you want and need?

    well, firstly, in my business i use ppt way more than word. so first i need an outliner/slideshow site for the web.

    and then secondly, i use xl a lot, but in very simple spreadsheets. a simple list maintainer and modest calc engine would suffice.

    oh and finally — incredibly clean integration with my blog. i should be able to post any article to my blog easily. you guys are doing this nicely with blogger, i am an mt user tho.

    i haven’t played around with printing functionality yet, i might have some requirements there.

    thanks for listening.
